Weekly Devotions

St. Jude Weekly DevotionAs we heard throughout Sunday’s readings, God created men and women in a complementary fashion. They are partners in stewardship of the earth and should live in a state of blessed mutuality. When they marry, “they are no longer two, but one body.” This is the foundation of many of our families, and we work together to support all families with love and support as a community of faith. Jesus elevates matrimony to the level of a sacrament, a covenant of life-giving love that should always be a cause for celebration for ourselves, our families and our friends.

We pray together: St. Jude, help us to see God’s image in every person we meet, and to love as Jesus taught us.

St. Jude, thank you for an answer of a new baby on the way for my son and daughter in law. I ask that you will intercede for this baby that he/she will arrive safely and her mum will not have too hard a time at the birth. I also ask that the scar on my grandchild’s face will heal successfully and that my daughter in law, son and his wife will get work closer to home so that they will not have to do so much commuting each day and that muy other son and his girlfriend will get a bit of maturity and wisdom and move forward in their relationship and get married instead of living together. I also ask that a successful outcome will come regarding my hip. I ask all of these prayers through the intercession of great St. Jude and through Jesus Christ, Our Saviour and Lord.
