Weekly Devotion – December 31st

Weekly Devotions

Nativity1

Jesus was born into this world to accomplish the Father’s plan for our salvation. At the age of twelve Jesus would speak intelligently about the scriptures, amazing all who listened with His wisdom and understanding.

That scene foreshadows the teaching ministry of Jesus that would take place two decades later as crowds would gather from near and far to listen to Him preach. We are also part of the story, for we have the great privilege of listening to the Lord Jesus every time we open the Bible.

Now, as then, His words have the capacity to inspire, convert, motivate, and console. Jesus continues to draw us to Himself and bids us to be nourished at the two-fold table of Word and Sacrament every time we participate in Mass.

May we keep these things in our heart and place our confidence in the Lord Jesus so that we might remain in Him, and He in us.

We pray together: St. Jude, together we seek happiness and peace. Walk with me and my family in the new year, and help us to grow in virtue.

Praying for a better new year, for a job I like where I fit in, for protection in my neighborhood, to be a better parent, for a car that my payment is lower and that it’s no accidents or damage, to forgive and forget, to get along with my family, for peace of mind and to lose weight. In Jesus name, Amen.
