Week Five Lent MeditationsLent
Thank you for joining our community of devotion during Lent. Send your special intentions to the National Shrine of St. Jude to be strengthened in devotion to St. Jude during this holy season.
We are traveling companions on this Lenten pilgrimage, encouraging and sustaining each other. During this second week of Lent, use our St. Jude Lenten Meditations as small reminders of the path we walk together toward Easter.
Below you will find the daily meditations for the fifth week of Lent. We look forward to praying with and for you during these holy days. May God bless you throughout these 40 days. We are praying for you.
Day 33 — April 10th
Let’s take a moment this fifth Sunday of Lent to reflect with contrition and resolve:
In the Gospel today, Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead and promised eternal life to all believers. Consider your own mortality today and seek to be closer to God.
Day 34 — April 11th
We take a moment this 34th day of Lent to reflect with contrition and resolve:
Be the light of hope for someone today. Tell someone you know that you are praying for them and remember them in prayer before the end of the day.
Day 35 — April 12th
We take a moment this 35th day of Lent to reflect with contrition and resolve:
Just as God loves us as we are, demonstrate this unconditional love toward others by accepting those who are different than we are.
Day 36 — April 13th
We take a moment this 36th day of Lent to reflect with contrition and resolve:
Remember those who are near the end of life and those just starting life’s journey. Each brings unique beauty to our world.
Day 37 — April 14th
We take a moment this 37th day of Lent to reflect with contrition and resolve:
All the delights of this world are passing beauty. Look to Christ for the fullness of joy which comes to us through the power of his death and resurrection.
Day 38 — April 15th
We take a moment this 38th day of Lent to reflect with contrition and resolve:
Open your heart today to the message of God’s love. Be attentive, because it may come from an unlikely person or source.
Day 39 — April 16th
We take a moment this 39th day of Lent to reflect with contrition and resolve:
Attune yourself to God’s presence today. Just as God accepts us, we accept others; open your heart and mind to see them as God sees them. This enables us to be gracious and forgiving even to those who may at first appear unworthy.
Day 40 — April 17th
We take a moment this final day of Lent to reflect with contrition and resolve:
In the Gospel today, Jesus entered Jerusalem to shouts of joy. Enter Holy Week with an open heart. In the solitude of the week ahead, we walk the final walk with Jesus. May our week be one of awareness, solemnity, prayer, and hope.
