The St. Jude Journal – October 2018eJournal
Welcome to the St. Jude Journal. We are delighted to share with you a prayer and reflection for St. Jude’s intercession, especially during the upcoming Solemn Novena to St. Jude for All Souls, October 20th—28th. Please join with me and thousands of other devotees by sending your petition or letter of gratitude to the National Shrine of St. Jude.
We are blessed as people of faith and devotion to know the comfort those bring when someone we love dies. Prayer helps ease the pain of loss as we work to move forward. Gratitude to God gives us a positive way to celebrate the blessings of life after a loss, even as we mourn.
Our prayer is also a very personal way to stay connected with those who have died. We pray to St. Jude to intercede on their behalf and ours, so their eternal life and our earthly lives will continue to be blessed by the loving presence of God.
This Novena is an opportunity for focused prayer for all of our family and friends who have died, and for our intentions and petitions of gratitude to St. Jude.
Remember your loved ones in this Solemn Novena by sending your petitions to the National Shrine. We will place them at the altar of St. Jude where they will be remembered in our Masses and prayers throughout the Novena.
Any support you can share with us—whether in prayers for our work or financial support—make a difference in the lives of the people we serve in communities with great need.
Thank you for sharing in Novena prayer for all who have died. May God bless you with comfort and peace.
