St. Jude, Intercessor in Difficult Cases

Feast of St. Jude

St. Jude ThaddeusMany devotees of St. Jude write to the National Shrine recounting how St. Jude has come through for them, their family and loved ones. Their confidence in the power of St. Jude to intercede for them ennoble their trust in what God is able to do in their lives. One Devotee wrote to the Shrine thanking God and St. Jude for a miracle in the life of their son who was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease in his teens. Throughout his teenage life, his family’s life was defined by his illness. They made many trips to the hospital and specialists seeking to provide him the best medicine available, and to restore him to full health.

As their worry and concern grew into fear, wondering whether their son would be healthy again, they discovered their faith in God, which became a source of strength and hope for the entire family. Then St. Jude came into their lives as they sought his intercession in what was becoming a difficult battle for their son and the entire family. Their prayer to God through the intercession of St. Jude inspired hope in their lives. As their trust and confidence in God grew, consequently, their family bond became stronger. United by their faith and prayer, their son’s recent test showed no signs of Crohn’s disease. Everything is possible for us through the power of God who strengthens us (Phil. 4:13).

Many people go through nerve-wrecking experiences that seem impossible to overcome, especially when all possible options toward success have been exhausted without benefit. So many people who know and experience painful realities have simply given up hope and found themselves without encouragement to keep the fight towards success. For some people, personal or family illness has dug a hole in their savings. For others, employment has left them scurrying around for survival, which more often than not, leaves them with disappointment and anger.

Wherever you stand today feeling alone and burdened by the worries of life, St. Jude can come through for you. St. Jude has accompanied so many people through the thick and thin of life’s challenges. He can do the same for you. You and I know that with God all things are possible (Matt. 19:26). Whenever our cry for help reaches God, He promises to show us love and kindness (Exod. 3:7-8). As we celebrate the Feast of St. Jude as the National Shrine, we invite you to join us in prayer and thanksgiving. With prayer and thanksgiving, lets make our needs known to God (Phil 4:6).

Dear St. Jude please hear my prayer. Give comfort to our family in this time of crisis. Hear our prayers and heal a member of our family. Uplift his spirit and give him the strength to heal for his children who need him, for his family who need him. Thank you.
