March 1st – Day of Prayer for Cancer

Day of Prayer for Cancer

March 1st – Day of Prayer for CancerThroughout Wednesday’s liturgies at the National Shrine of St. Jude, we will pray in a special way for all those who suffer from cancer. We invite you to join us March 1st, and on the first Wednesday of every month, as we call upon St. Jude for the healing of cancer. Please send your special intentions for healing and remembrance of those affected by cancer to the Shrine or join our prayer circle of healing by posting your prayer to our Day of Prayer for Cancer wall below.

We pray together: St. Jude, you are the bearer of abiding hope. I place myself in your care as I bear the cross of cancer. I trust that you intercede constantly for me, giving me courage when I am afraid, strength when I grow weary, hope for my most difficult challenges. Most faithful patron, may you remind me always of the love and healing God offers to each of His children. Amen.

Late in September 2016 I was diagnosed with Multiple Myelom, a kind of blood cancer. Since than I receive medical treatment from our Hematology Institute and their great young doctors working there. But it is my faith in the heavenly power and my special patron Saint Jude that keeps me going strong. I pray to JESUS and MARY and ask them for help. Help to strengthen my faith and to make me stronger as a Christian in general.
I hope Saint Jude can keep me an carry me through this process of treatment and hope in medical and heavenly wonders.
Thank YOU LORD JESUS for every day here on earth and the hope for eternal life in heaven.
    AMEN

I was recently diagnosed with Merkel Cell Carcinoma, a rare type of cancer. This week they will remove the tumor on my leg and later do a Pet Scan to see if it has moved.
I am a 5 year small bowel cancer survivor and St Jude has been my Parton saint for many years since my grandmother introduced me to St. Jude. I am now 74 years old.
I will pray for all of you & your families.

My souls trust is in the Lord. My husband has stage 4 cancer. He started out 4yrs ago with this diagnoses and with the help of God, Jesus, Mary,Mother of God,and my Special Patron St.Jude, he has stunned the medical world that he has come so far. However, he’s been and still is in the battle of his life. He continues to try to work in his weakening condition. Because he is a man of God, beliveing that God will continue to give him strength. ‘I can do all things thru Jesus Christ’. But, now, because of the damage the cancer and the chemo has caused the liver, and the fact that medical drugs has gone as far as they can go, he is no longer receive any more treatment. Next step…Hospice. Just like that. But, my husband refuses to give in. Despite what they say.Hhe still believes, he still hopes. That is why I don’t give up, I like any other loving wife and daughter of God, stand beside him in this battle of life. He does not want to die. He wants life. My humble, heartfelt prayers continue to pour up to the heavens begging for Gods grace for a miracle. We know, He hears us. St.Jude has been a huge part of this fight against cancer. My prayers are not only focused on my husbands fight, but for every man, woman and child who are suffering from this dreadful disease as all other catastrophic diseases. Not only has cancer robbed my husband of quality of life, but has drained us financially. Because of this he continues to work, in order not to loose our home, and of course his medical insurance, especially now. I pray, that you, my brothers and sisters in Christ, anyone who believes in a higher power, all those who call upon St. Jude in despair and hope, to pray for my husband, Charles, and others for a powerful movement of healing from Our Lord God. And the intersession of St.Jude. Thank you and shall I will be praying for you as well. Amen
