As a faithful devotee of St. Jude, you know how the message of hope can renew someone’s life. We begin the new year in the Church with the season of Advent—a season of hope. Advent is a time to help us prepare for Christmas, when we celebrate the fulfillment of our longing for the Savior with the birth of Jesus Christ.
During this time, we observe a season of prayer, fasting and repentance, followed by anticipation, hope and joy. Each Sunday during Advent we light one candle on the Advent wreath. The Advent wreath is made of four candles and a circle of branches. The circle symbolizes the eternal cycle of the seasons while the evergreens and lighted candles signify the persistence of life in the midst of winter. Each candle represents an aspect of the spiritual preparation for the coming of the Lord, Jesus Christ. We invite you to light a virtual Advent candle with us this season when you send your prayers or petitions to the National Shrine of St. Jude.
Long ago the prophet Isaiah promised “the Lord himself will give you this sign: the Virgin shall be with child, and bear a son, and shall name him Emmanuel” (Is. 7:14). Jesus is that sign for us. He dwells with us as God among us, the center of our faith and the foundation of our hope. May your prayer through St. Jude continue to bring you blessings this holy season

Dear St. Jude:Father as we come together this day of Advent week number 2#. we are asking that you would build a hedge around our families, communities, churches, homeless,and the world greatest cities in the United States. Lord, I am asking you to protect us from all the principalities, wickedness and evil spirits that are trying to keep our world in deep captivity and bondage. Now the Kingdom of Heaven suffers violence and the violent take it by force. Lord we stand in the gap for our families, communities,and churches. We are taking a stand today in prayer for we know that prayer changes things. Through prayer we desire to pull down all the strongholds, those intruders of no affection who have come to kill, steal ,and destory. Intruders such as: the drug dealers, the drug addicts, the prostitutes, the gang bangers, the rapists, the robbers, the car jackers, the murderers, the home invaders, and the child molesters. Lord we also call down other strongholds that hold us bound and tie-up in our minds: depression, oppression, low self-eseem, poverty and lack, unemployment, discouragement, disapointment,hatred among races,anger, rage pity, teen motherhood, fatherless homes, and homelessness. Now Lord we release Love, Unity, Moral Values and Principles, Encouragement, Support through out our Nation, cities and communities.From The West, East, North and South. Father we declare and decree restoration now, healing now, and prosperity for our world, cities and our communities. For you said that if those who are called by your name would humble themselves and pray then you would heal their land. Now we thank you Lord for what you have already done just on today. We give you praise for being a Great and Awesome God. We thank you for just who you really are in the lives of your people. We LOVE YOU, We Glorify your Great Name, as we petition this Prayer unto you Father, until we can see great changes happening for us all. We love you Oh Lord today and through-out this special ADVENT SEASON 2011.

Please pray for his financial security and to beable to stay employed. Please pray for him to have friends in his life who will bring joy to him.
