Our reflection from the readings this week is:
“Master,’ Simon answered, ‘we worked hard all night long and caught nothing. But if you say so, I will let down the nets.’ They let them down and caught such a large number of fish that the nets were about to break.”
When we work for our own profit alone, we work in vain. When we work in order to bring the reign of God—when we do the work that Jesus did—God blesses that effort whether we realize it or not.
We pray together: St. Jude, grant me the grace to work conscientiously, putting the call of duty above my natural inclinations.

May the Lord bless you and keep you and all those you love, especially those affected by cancer. Throughout today’s liturgies at the National Shrine of St. Jude, we will pray in a special way for all those who suffer from cancer. I invite you to join us today, and on the first Wednesday of every month, as we call upon St. Jude for the healing of cancer.
